Dave Weinberg’s Eagles-Lions 2-Minute Drill
Here is a quick look at the Eagles impressive win over the Lions on Sunday.
Eagles' best number: 236 (Eagles rushing yardage)
Eagles' worst number: 1 (DeVonta Smith receptions)
View from my living room: I severely underestimated the Lions' level of suckiness in my pregame prediction. I had the Lions winning 21-20.
Three stars
1. Eagles running back Boston Scott (2 rushing touchdowns)
2. Eagles running back Jordan Howard (2 rushing touchdowns)
3. Eagles defensive end Josh Sweat (2 sacks)
Eagles' best play
Cornerback Darius Slay scooped up a fumble and returned it 33 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter that gave the Eagles and 38-0 lead.
Eagles' worst play
Lions running back Jermar Jefferson scored on a 6-yard run in the fourth quarter to ruin the Eagles' bid for their first shutout since 2018 (24-0 over Washington).
Turning point
Leading 24-0 at halftime, the Eagles drove 90 yards on their first possession of the second half for a touchdown to end any thoughts of a Lions' comeback.
