The Eagles have hired a new running back coach to replace Duce Staley.

The team has hired Jemal Singleton to take over the position, and will also carry the same assistant head coach title.

Staley of course left the team after nine years to take the same position with the Detroit Lions.  He had interviewed for the Eagles head coaching position, but the team elected to go with Nick Sirianni.  At that time Staley requested to get out of his contact and the team granted him that wish.

Singleton, 45, had accepted a job as running backs coach and special teams coordinator with the Kentucky Wildcats in January, but is now heading to Philadelphia.

He has a few NFL stops before landing in Philadelphia, spending the 2020 season with the Bengals.  Before that he spent time with the Raiders and Colts.
