Here in New Jersey when the St. Patrick’s Day festivities come around, there is a large kindred spirit that enjoys the frivolity and celebration of the spirit of the Irish.

Many enjoy celebrating with friends and family by raising a glass at one of the many Irish bars here in New Jersey.

There have been quite a few cutbacks in the number of people here in New Jersey going out to grab dinner or listen to local music. Times are tougher and the budget doesn’t allow for the frequency of going out. I’ve noticed that myself and it is an eye-opener.

A listener once told me that there are more Irish descendants along the Jersey Shore than there are in Dublin, Ireland. He never stated his source, but I wouldn’t bet on it. The point well taken is that there are many of us here in New Jersey of Irish heritage and when St. Patrick’s Day arrives it is time to show that pride.

There are those who are not of Irish heritage who enjoy celebrating and get caught up in the vortex of all that the St. Patrick’s Day festivities provide.

I have a few of my favorite New Jersey Irish bars that thrive on keeping that Irish spirit alive. If you don’t see your favorite Irish Bar on the list let me know, I’d love to check it out.

In no order, here are my favorite Irish bars of New Jersey.
