What will fall be like in NJ? Farmer’s Almanac prediction is in

If you want day-to-day specific forecasts, you need to listen to New Jersey 101.5 Chief Meteorologist Dan Zarrow. But for more general seasonal weather trends, the Farmer’s Almanac says it’s accurate 80% of the time.

OK, then what does it say about fall for New Jersey? The prediction is in, and if you’ve already had enough of summer heatwaves, you might like this.

The Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions are expected to see cooler-than-normal temperatures in September and October. Interior states look to be hotter than usual.

Also, drier conditions are expected to prevail for the first part of fall in the Mid-Atlantic region, but the Northeast could be wetter.

Now the way that works out for New Jersey, according to NorthJersey.com, is that the northern tier of New Jersey could see wetter months in September and October, along with those cooler temps, but the rest of the Garden State would be drier than usual.

So cooler for the whole state, and drier for most of it, except the far north would be wetter.

Now let’s see if they’re right.

Personally, extreme temperatures never bother me. I spent years in Michigan, where negative four wasn't uncommon. I also spent plenty of time in Arizona, where 112 was normal. Extreme temperatures, I can handle.

Even precipitation doesn't bother me as long as it's in the form of rain. What I hate is snow. No, hate is too mild a word for it. Loathe. Despise.

So what I'm really waiting to see is the Farmer's Almanac prediction for winter.
