The Garden State has a clear favorite when it comes to gas

When you live in the Garden State, you develop a preference for where you go to get your gas tank filled.

Since we can’t pump it ourselves, we need to know where to go to get our preferred service.

We need to know what we’re up against: will the attendant be on his Bluetooth speaker the whole time? Will they take forever to get to your car because they’re distracted? Or are there not enough pumps to service the number of vehicles lined up?

Outsiders may not realize it, but these can drastically affect your gas station experience.

Understanding the importance of gas station differences, the site Hartley Law put out a study to find the favorite spot in each state to fill your tank.

They analyzed Google Trends data from the last year for 75 national gas stations to determine each state's favorite gas station.

Buc-ee's, Mobil, and Shell tied for the most popular across the nation, with each being the top-searched gas station in three states, but none of those are the favorite of the Garden State.

What is New Jersey’s favorite gas station?

We prefer to get “Twenty. Regular. Cash.” at QuickChek, we were the only state that chose it, according to Hartley Law’s research.

Personally, I can’t speak highly enough about the times I’ve gotten gas from QuickChek.

I swear this is not a paid promotion.

The attendants are always kind, I’m called “ma’am” but not in an insulting way, and they never take their time getting to the pump like some other station workers do.

The study also looked at the most popular gas station snacks in each state. We in New Jersey tend to opt for Häagen-Dazs Ice Cream, which was the most-searched gas station snack overall, leading in five states.
