Some of the best NYC suburbs are right here in New Jersey

Maybe you actually want to get some sleep, while being near the city that never does.

The Garden State has some heavy representation on a list from the ranking and review site Niche, of the best suburbs to live in around New York City.

The 2024 analysis takes into account several factors of a location, including crime rates, employment statistics, the quality of local schools, housing trends, and access to other areas.

Nearly half of Niche's top 25 "NYC suburb" entries are actually in New Jersey. For those who need to commute to work or just prefer easy access to fun, it's a quick train, bus or car ride into the city from the northern portion of New Jersey.

According to Niche, these New Jersey locations are some of the "best suburbs of New York City." Some can certainly be defined as busy cities themselves.

The list includes locations in five different New Jersey counties.
