Triple crown horses have come along like buses on Manhattan streets: you wait forever for one, and then all of a sudden, two or three come in near succession.

Forte will be heading into the 149th Kentucky Derby, with post time of 6:57 p.m. EDT on Saturday, May 6, as the heavy favorite to win. If he can win the first race, his odds in the Preakness, which many horses will skip as they try to prepare for the longer Belmont Stakes in June, will be significantly lower, and the triple crown might be on this season.
