Philadelphia Phillies Among Teams to Watch Trevor Rosenthal

The Philadelphia Phillies are among teams on hand to watch 2015 MLB All-Star and free agent reliever Trevor Rosenthal, reports Jim Salisbuty of the NBC Sports Philadelphia.

The news indicates Philadelphia is looking for ways to improve their bullpen, which has struggled the past few years.

Rosenthal set the Cardinals' franchise record with 48 saves during the 2015 season and finsished second in the N.L. with 45 saves in 2014 for the St. Louis.

The right-hander missed the 2018 season after he underwent Tommy John surgery and missed the 2021 season with thoracic outlet surgery and surgery to repair a torn labrum in his hip.

Rosenthal posted a 1.90 ERA and 0.85 WHIP with 11 saves and 38 strikeouts in 23.2 innings pitching for the Royals and Padres in the COVID shortened 2020 season.

He held a showcase for at St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens on Tuesday and was clocked at 95-96 mph.

Philadelphia as a team has posted an 3.99 ERA as a staff with 11 saves.
