The Phillies starting rotation was dealt a major blow on Tuesday, placing right-hander Zack Eflin on the injured list with right patellar tendinitis.

Eflin will miss his next start and manager Joe Girardi said today the Phillies will go with a bullpen game tomorrow against the Braves with Matt Moore getting the ball tomorrow against Yankees.

Eflin has had a solid but unspectacular season as the teams No. 3 pitcher behind Zach Wheeler and Aaron Nola, who was activated today and pitch tonight against the Yankees.

As for Eflin he is 4-7 on the season with a 4.17 ERA and 1.25 WHIP in 105.2 innings pitched.

With Eflin out for likely his next two starts, the team could look to add another starting pitcher in the event he has to miss more starts.  Remember Eflin had surgery in 2016 to repair both patella tendons, limiting him to just 11 games that season.
