The 2021 NFL Draft opened Thursday night to a lot of fanfare in Cleveland Ohio.  This event creates a lot of speculation and hype every year as the hopes and dreams of fan bases ride with each team's scouts and front office personnel as they try to pick their future Pro bowl player to build a championship team.  The General Manager and their staff work tirelessly in preparation for the months leading up to the Draft.

The Philadelphia Eagles GM Howie Roseman has faced a lot of criticism for the team's decline of late and had an opportunity to pick an impact player.  On Thursday night, the Eagles opened up the draft with the 12th overall pick but made a trade with an arch enemy, the Dallas Cowboys, to move up to the 10th overall pick to get Alabama Wide Receiver DeVonta Smith.

As the NFL draft kicks into high gear Friday and Saturday, we also have the 147th running of the Kentucky Derby being held on Saturday at Churchill Downs in Louisvile, Kentucky.  Post Time is 6:50 pm for the big race.  The first “ Running of the Roses” dates back to 1875.  All the history and tradition will be on display on NBC and this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim we will talk about it all along with the NFL Draft.

On Saturday’s show Scott McKay and I will get you ready for the third day of the NFL Draft and review the Eagles picks from Thursday and Friday.  During the second hour of The Locker Room, we will hear from Jeffrey Nash of www.fastlandhandicapper.com . Jeff owns horses and has been handicapping races for years.  Jeff will give us a complete run down of the horses and the odds for the Kentucky Derby.

On Sunday’s show, Scott Grayson from Fox29 news and 97.3espn.com Writer will check in and give his impressions on the Eagles draft picks.  Plus The Locker Room will be giving away a four pack of Phillies tickets.  You can participate via the Text board question of the day to be eligible to win the tickets for Tuesdays Phillies game against the Milwaukee Brewers at 7:05pm at Citizens Bank park.

All the action starts every Saturday & Sunday from 10am to 12 noon on 97.3 ESPN radio.
