MLB ‘Fully Vaccinated Section’ Tickets Are Here

I received an email this morning, from none other than the New York Mets. Now, I know what you're thinking. They're recruiting me to fight against Levack in the battle of New York. Clever, and I would gladly accept, but that is not the case.

The email in question announced to me (a former ticket purchaser) that the Mets were selling tickets to their new "Fully Vaccinated Section" at Citi Field. In order to get into the section, you would need to present your vaccine card in addition to your ticket stub, and would be seated in a pod socially-distanced from your fellow vaxxers.

In my mind, I'm like...GREAT! As soon as I get my shots, I can rip off my mask and go enjoy a game at Citi Field, without the hindrance of a mask, and without a random family fighting me for my armrest. Then, as I scrolled through the Frequently Asked Questions section for more information, reality hit.

Q: Do I still need to wear a face covering when in my fully vaccinated seating section?

A: Yes.

Now, there was more to this answer, but the rest of it became a blur. All I could focus on, was that one word. Three letters long, and normally so positive, but not today. Today, it's a locked gate, keeping me and fresh air from knowing companionship once again. For now, I and every other baseball fan will be forced to cover our smiles, our frowns and every other expression that the volatile Mets bring about each night.

Don't get me wrong, I get the point here. You want people to be comfortable being around other folks that, in theory, can't give each other COVID. I know that's the point, and it's an admirable attempt to make baseball fans feel better about being at the ballpark.

But...but...but...WHAT ABOUT NO MASKS??
