The Phillies beleaguered bullpen is hoping to get a lift.

The Oakland A's designated Cam Bedrosian for assignment earlier in the week and today the Phillies are taking a swing, hoping he can help their bullpen.

Bedrosian has struggled this season with a 5.52 ERA, 1.98 WHIP over 14 2/3 innings on the season between Oakland and Cincinnati.

The right-handed Bedrosian gets a minor league deal with the Phillies and is heading to Lehigh Valley. He is a eight-year veteran of the big leagues, debuting with the Angles in 2014. He spent seven seasons with Los Angles from 2014-20.

Bedrosian missed time with a right adductor strain last season and signed a minor league deal with the Reds this offseason. He struggled with the Reds with an 11.12 ERA and 2.82 WHIP over 5 2/3 innings before being released.

His father Steve won the Cy Young award with the Phillies back in 1987 going 5-3 with a 2.83 earned run average and a league-leading 40 saves.
