Claude Giroux Has Let Chuck Fletcher Know Where He Wants Go

There is a good chance we are seeing the end of the Claude Giroux era in Philadelphia.

With the Flyers in last place and the March 21 NHL trade deadline approaching, Giroux's name will be coming up plenty in trade discussions.

The longest tenured captain in team history has a full no-movement clause in his contract and can veto any trade. However, according to Colorado Avalanche insider Adrian Dater of 104.3 The Fan, Giroux has made it known to GM Chuck Fletcher that he would like to go to Colorado.

The Avs lead the NHL currently with 72 points and are in first-place in the Central Division of the Western Conference.

In the event that a deal can't be agreed on between the two teams, Giroux has stated that Minnesota and St. Louis would be acceptable alternatives.

The Wild are in second-place in the Central with 61 points and St. Louis has 59 points and is in fourth place in the Central.

Giroux, who remains one of the top trade candidates in the league, is someone that has been linked to Colorado. The Flyers did send scouts to a recent game between the Avalanche and Tampa Bay Lightning, along with their AHL affiliate.

At this point it seems that we are in fact seeing the end of the Claude Giroux era in Philadelphia, its just a matter of when it will happen.
