One day after officially being named a special assistant to the general manager, Danny Briere met with the media on Wednesday morning to discuss the new role and how he factors into those plans.

The Flyers announced on Tuesday afternoon that Danny Briere has been named a special assistant to the general manager.

A rebound goal by Scott Laughton in overtime was the difference, giving the Flyers a 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Kings at Wells Fargo Center to snap a 13-game losing streak. 

To lose 10 games in a row in a season is really not as uncommon as it may seem. It’s actually happened four times already this season. The law of averages essentially caught up to the Flyers. Out of the break, they were lucky to get a win in Seattle and stole a point in San Jose. Deservedly, they have nothing to show for a defeat that featured more sloppy play, more poor puck management, and continued lapses in defensive coverage.
