The Philadelphia Flyers lost again on Thursday night, their tenth straight defeat, falling 2-1 to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The orange and black are now 13-19-8 and 14 points behind in the second Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference playoff race, ranking 25th in this week's ESPN.com power rankings.

If the past month has proven anything, it's that the Flyers will need a miracle to salvage their season. Eight straight losses going into Tuesday night was bad enough. Scoring more than two goals in only one of those games was worse. The fact that an eight-game skid wasn't even Philadelphia's longest of the season? Well then.

With making the playoffs seeming very unlikely at this point, will Flyers captain Clause Giroux finally think about parting ways with the only team he has ever played for?

On Thursday, Giroux's future in Philadelphia was a big topic of conversation on NHL Now on the NHL Network with insiders E.J. Hradek and Billy Jaffe discussing the possibility of the captain being traded and landing in Boston.

"Think about the Boston Bruins, what do we always say, they need a second center," Hradek said. "To think about Clause Giroux in a Bruins jersey is kind of crazy. If would  ice to see Bergeron as your first center and Giroux as your second center."

"That's the first place I would say too," Jaffe added.

"There are a number of teams that could use a Top 6 forward," Hradek said. "He's a really smart play maker and can help you in a lot of different ways, and maybe he doesn't have to be the guy."

"I think he could bring you back some very good assets and he could add a piece to a team that is desperate need of a top six forward," Jaffe said.

The 34-year old has 12 goals, 19 assists for 31 points in 40 contests this season, but he has a no-trade clause in his contract that he would have to waive for the team to move him.
