Important Weekend for The Phillies with the Eagles in Cleveland
The Philadelphia Phillies start a 4-game series with the New York Mets starting on Friday Night. The Phillies are currently 10 games behind the Mets in the National League East but the Phillies are Two games up on the Brewers and one game up on the Padres in the NL Wildcard Race. The Phillies have been without their leader, Bryce Harper, but the offense has been fueled by NL Home Runs leader Kyle Schwarber (34), with both Zach Eflin and now newly acquired centerfielder Brandon Marsh on the Injured List. Without Schwarber since August 11th, the Phillies have a total of only scored 17 runs. The Phillies are 4-11 against the Mets this season and need at least a split to keep pace in the Wildcard race. Aaron Nola is on the mound on Friday Night and Zack Wheeler starts the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader.
The Eagles are in Cleveland for joint practices this week with the Browns and then will play in their second preseason game at 1pm on Sunday (hear Eagles coverage all season long on 97.3 FM!). Eagles Running Back Miles Sanders hasn’t practiced since last Friday with a Hamstring Issue and he will probably not participate on Sunday's game against the Browns either.
