There are some very good memories of Odell Beckham, Jr. in a New York Giants uniform and some not so good ones, as well. The blazing speed and one handed grabs were often offset by fights on the sidelines with kicking nets or party boat pictures days before a crucial playoff match-up against the Green Bay Packers. Going on national television and taking shots at two time Super Bowl MVP quarterback, Eli Manning, seemed to be the plane ticket out of town. Beckham, Jr. had worn out his welcome with the fans in New York but it seems maybe not the players.

Today on nypost.com, our friend from The Drive with Charlie & Dan, Paul Schwartz talked to some of OBJ's teammates on the Giants to get some of their feelings on the Super Bowl LVI wide receiver for the Los Angelas Rams. "The whole team got mattresses from Odell,” Justin Pugh, now of the Arizona Cardinals told The Post. “I think I might have got three mattresses from Odell. Literally he had an 18-wheeler truck pull up to the practice facility and he was like ‘Hey, anyone that needs a mattress go get it.’ It was a Casper mattress, in a box." That sounds pretty generous, no matter how much these guys are making. You are certainly going to endear yourself to people showing that kind of generosity.

This is a side of Odell Beckham, Jr. that doesn't get talked about so much. Pugh told Schwartz more, "There were backpacks, there was clothing. Literally everything you could think of he was connected to, he made sure everyone else got something. If you have the fame and that connection and people want to send you stuff to not only get yourself, to get it for the 80-plus guys in the locker room, that goes to show you what type of guy he is. That’s why I think so many of his teammates love him and appreciate him. He leveraged his likeness and his fame to help everybody out in the locker room and that was something I always appreciated about him."

The on the field stories about OBJ from his days with the Giants were described as a grind. It was a process to achieve anything productive. However, according to Paul's article, the players were OK with Odell and even enjoyed his antics, especially when he delivers a truckload of mattresses to his teammates. That is pretty cool and he has a lot of former Big Blue teammates cheering for him on Sunday in Super Bowl LVI, maybe even Eli. To read the rest of Paul Schwartz's article, go to nypost.com/sports.
