5 Options for Sixers to Replace Andre Drummond

With the Sixers sending backup center Andre Drummond to Brooklyn in the deal for James Harden, they have a big hole behind Joel Embiid now.

We all remember the revolving door of back-up big men during the Sixers playoff failures, like Kyle O'Quinn, Greg Monroe, Jonah Bolden, Amir Johnson Novelle Pelle, Dwight Howard and Boban Marjanović to name a few.

When Embiid has left the floor in playoff series, the paint has become rent free for opposing guards to take the ball to the rim.

Drummond has been by far the best back-up big the Sixers have had for Embiid and now they need to fill that void.

So here are five possibilities for the Sixers as a replacement for Drummond.

1. Charles Bassey - The 6-11 rookie from Western Kentucky has flashed in limited time, and might get the first minutes as the Sixers try to find a more veteran player. Bassey had 13 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks on 6-of-10 shooting in 22 minutes off the bench back on Dec. 13 at Memphis.  He also had 12 points, seven rebounds, one steal and three blocks in 19 minutes off the bench in a game against Denver on Nov. 18.

2. Tristan Thompson - Thompson is considered a buy-out candidate after being traded to the Indian Pacers at the deadline. He is a veteran center who in 15.1 mins is scoring 6.2 points and 5.4 rebounds in 30 games, which is about the same numbers Drummond was giving them, 6.1 points and 8.8 rebounds in 18.4 minutes.

3. Enes Freedon - Freedom was traded to the Rockets this week and is expected to be bought out by Houston.  He is a excellent rebounded, especially on the offensive glass. His numbers are way down this season, but last year in Portland, the 29-year old grabbed 11 rebounds per game.

4. Robin Lopez -  Lopez is a veteran, who is more of a scorer than a rim protector off-the-bench. He is scoring 8.2 points and grabbing 3.8 rebounds per game in 17.7 minutes for Orlando. He is still a solid defensive center who could give the Sixers 12-15 minutes behind Embiid.

5. Derrick Favors - Favors is far removed from some of his best seasons with Utah, but is still a guy that can come in and grab some rebounds off-the-bench. In 16.4 minutes per game, Favors is averaging 4.9 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.
