Are the Sixers Ready to Move Ben Simmons?

We are less then 24 hours to Christmas Day, but we have a present that might interest Sixers fans.

While Ben Simmons is still a Sixer, there is interest in his services from rival NBA teams and something could happen sometime after the Christmas holiday per former Sixer and National Basketball League coach, Lanard Copeland, who spoke in an interview on Sportsday NSW.

“There are teams out there in the NBA who are struggling and would love a Ben Simmons right now.”

“They’re working on trades. I heard there were 12 teams staking him (out) right now.

“Philadelphia are probably going to be smart and ship him to the west coast because they know how valuable Ben is.

“They don’t want to play Ben five or six times a year. They send him to the west coast and whatever deal works best for them, then things will happen.

“From what I’m hearing, something is going to happen right after Christmas and hopefully Ben will be playing again.

“Ben’s another superstar kid, I played with his father (Dave) and you want to see success, you want to see him having fun.”

This season hasn't been much fun for the Sixers without Simmons. The team is sitting at 16-16 and have lost some games to teams that have been undermanned.  While Simmons has flaws, the team is clearly missing his services.

Bleacher Report recently put out a possible three-team deal involving Simmons and Portland, but it doesn't involve Dame Lilliard.

Indiana Pacers Receive: SG CJ McCollum, F Nassir Little, C Cody Zeller, 2024 first-round pick (lottery-protected, via Portland Trail Blazers*), 2022 second-round pick (via Portland)

Philadelphia 76ers Receive: G/F Caris LeVert, SG Norman Powell, PF Larry Nance Jr.

In this deal the Sixers land Caris LeVert, Norman Powell and Larry Nance Jr. Not exactly the All-Star level they were hoping for, but LeVert and Powell offer a pair of scorers and Nance, who is an athletic big man.
