ESPN polls ranking the top-10 players by position in the NFL continued this week with tight ends and offensive tackle, both areas that the Eagles fared well.

There are a lot of great tight ends in the NFL currently and the Eagles have one of them, Dallas Goedert, who checked in at No. 6 among tight ends on the list compiled by ESPN.

"He's kind of a sleeper to me," an AFC personnel evaluator said. "Never gets huge media praise, but he's a big, smooth athlete who's good in both phases of the game -- can stretch the seams and also has enough athletic ability to run the route tree."

ESPN got input from “more than 50 league executives, coaches, scouts and players" to make the Top 10 list for each position, releasing one list each day.

The fifth-year player out of South Dakota State is behind George Kittle, Travis Kelce, Darren Waller, Mark Andrews and Kyle Pitts. He was ahead of T.J. Hockenson, Dalton Schultz, Dawson Knox and Hunter Henry in the Top 10.

Southern Regional graduate Mike Gesicki, Pat Freiermuth, former Eagles tight end Zach Ertz and Davis Njoku  received honorable mention.

Interestingly enough, Goedert finished ahead of Ertz, who had a solid yea with the Eagles and Cardinals in 2021.

And as for Goedert, clearly people around the NFL think highly of him, even though he started only 40 of 57 career games since being drafted in the second-round of the 2018 draft.

Goedert caught 56 balls for 830 yards and four touchdowns last season, good for 14.8 yards per catch.

Over at tackle, starting right Lane Johnson landed on the list of the ESPN Top 10, landing in the No. 7 spot.

"What's funny is he's probably not the [great] athlete he used to be, yet he's still more athletic than more than half the starters, which shows just how athletic he was in his prime," an NFL personnel director said. "That's impressive, that he's lost a step but [is] still a high-level guy."

Meanwhile, over at left tackle, Jordan Mailata got honorable mention on the list, saying that he is known leaguewide right now, but might be by this time next season.

"Really impressive and really big," an AFC scout said. "Watching his [Rugby League] highlights from before he came into the league and then when he first started with [Philadelphia], I was like, 'Man, this dude is awesome.'

The Top 10 included Trent Williams, Tristan Wirfs, David Bakhtiari, Rashawn Slater, Tyron Smith, Laremy Tunsil Ronnie Stanley, Ryan Ramczyk and Terron Armstead.
