ESPN’s Latest NBA Mock Draft has Sixers Selecting Alabama Guard

With all of the recent Ben Simmons trade rumors making headlines, its hard to focus on the NBA Draft, which is Thursday night (listen on 97.3 ESPN).

With that, it’s mock draft season, and even though the Sixers are reported to be interested in moving the their first-round pick, No. 28 overall, if they don't find the right deal, there are some interesting options for them.

The latest mock draft from ESPN’s Jonathan Givony has Philadelphia going with the youngest player in the draft this year, Alabama shooting guard Joshua Primo.

The Sixers will be looking to surround their core with as much 3-point shooting as possible after a disappointing playoff exit. Primo, the youngest player in the draft, might need some time before becoming a consistent contributor, but he has helped himself with a strong pre-draft process and is a candidate to come off the board around this range or earlier to a team trading up to select him.

At 6-foot-6 and 190 pounds, the 18-year-old averaged 8.1 points and 3.4 rebounds per game for the Crimson Tide last season.

The Sixers drafted Tyrese Maxey last season, with the No. 21 pick, showing that you can find talent this deep in the draft.  However, Primo might take some time to develop.

In round two, the latest ESPN mock draft has the Sixers going with Michigan forward Isaiah Livers, a 6-foot-7, 230-pound forward who scored 13.9 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game, hitting .431 from three-point range in his senior season.
